[PRODUCT REVIEW] Himalaya Herbals Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream

'Himalaya' is a popular household brand of skin, hair and health care products in India. I was glad that Himalaya sent me their Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream. This product contains many natural and effective ingredients that are good for the skin.

The cream texture is rich and creamy, but it has a non-greasy feeling after application. A small amount is enough for the entire face and neck. I personally feel that it leaves a smooth and light-weight feeling after application. The face cream leaves no residue on the face, and it hydrates the skin very well.

The cream is pale in colour, and it looks like generic BB Cream/Sunblock. Thanks to it's unique herbal extracts and ingredients, it protects our skin against harmful UV rays to prevent the skin from darkening.

After usage for about a week, my skin tone started to brighten up. I really love the radiant glow that it gave to my complexion! I love everything about this cream as it provides excellent moisture effects to my skin! It also evened out my skin tones by reducing dark spots and pigmentation. The only downside is the packaging as it comes in a heavy glass jar/tub, which I find it pretty unhygienic, as I have to dip my fingers in deeply to scoop out the cream.

Himalaya Herbals Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream has become a part of my daily beauty regime. I apply it as a make-up base, and it gives a smooth and glowing finish.

Lastly, thanks Himalaya for sending me the Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream. I hope my experiences can help you to understanding the product better! Do share with me on your experiences in the comments section below!

[3 minutes quick fix] Kay's Instant Fusilli

Kay’s is a home-grown brand that goes through strict safety checks by the Singapore Agri Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA), and it is Halal Certified. Kay's ensures that their pasta (Macaroni/Fusilli) aren't 'waxed', like some of the other instant noodles and pasta that are being sold in the market. This is to ensure that our health is protected! Kay’s brings in the finest food quality and eliminates any hassle in cooking, preparing, or even cleaning up on any mess after the meal! You can enjoy delicious cooked food within minutes!

After the successful launch of their Instant Macaroni, Kay’s introduced their latest product, Instant Fusilli which comes in 5 different flavors – Hot & Spicy, Soy Chicken, Black Pepper, Creamy Chicken and Spicy Chicken.

The Kay’s Instant Fusilli is priced at SGD4.50/pkt with 3 individual packed servings. They are available in Sheng Siong, Prime Supermarkets and NTUC Fairprice.

Weekends, and especially Sundays are my 'official' lazy days to laze around at Baby's apartment! It is a joy to sometimes do absolutely nothing but to watch dramas! We are quite lazy to go out if we do not have any plans, and will normally stay at home to prepare hassle-free meals! Hence these pasta products are the perfect fix for lazy people like us! Haha!

Thanks Kay’s for the media drop, and the Instant pasta tastes delicious! We decided to try out the Instant Fusilli and as well as the Instant Macaroni.

We had the Black Pepper and Soy Chicken flavored Fusilli as well as the Chicken Macaroni to share between us. All I can say is that the 3 minutes required for the cooking was rather amazing when compared to the average cooking time of 8-12 minutes for regular pasta.

We added quite of a number of ingredients to our pasta. The pasta is definitely tasted nicer as compared to the soupy macaroni one would eat at the hawker centres. We love the Black Pepper Fusilli the best!

As a whole, I felt that it is a comfort food which is easy to prepare and to fill up my stomach on busy days. It is definitely a perfect meal fix for people who have a tight schedule to whip up a complete meal for the family. All you need is just 3 minutes of cooking, and you can add your favorite ingredients to go along with your pasta.

Oh yes, I almost forget to mention the price for the Instant Macaroni! They are retailing at SGD3.20/pkt with 3 individual packed servings. For more information, please visit www.3kays.com.sg

[Mizuno Ekiden 2017 - Team: 4-EVERSUKI] Race as 4, Run as 1

Last year, Baby and I took part in our first Mizuno Ekiden Race, running approximately 5.3km as the second and fourth runner respectively for our Team MESUGOI. This year, we returned to Mizuno Ekiden 2017 to participate in the 21.1km group race with another couple, Tracy and Yixiang. We called ourselves, Team 4-EVERSUKI!

Mizuno Ekiden is a long distance relay race, and for this event, there were two categories of a 21.1KM run and a 42.195KM run for a group of 4 members. Ekiden is a long-held Japanese tradition, and this race is used to promote the importance of Japanese values such as teamwork and perseverance. Through this race, Japanese culture is promoted in Singapore! I love the Japanese value of having 4 people in a team and run as one, in order to complete the race! This required a great amount of teamwork and cohesion!

Mizuno Ekiden 2017 was held at The Promontory @ Marina Bay, and I met up with my team members at the Matsuri Race Village prior to our run.

I drank up some of the energy jelly, Amino Vital by Ajinomoto, in order to give me the perfect energy boost to complete my race!

The race course was tougher, as compared to the last year's race! I was slowed down especially on the slope of the Helix Bridge, as well as the touristy Esplanade Bridge, near the Merlion. I felt that the race could have been more organized, especially at the Esplanade Bridge, as there were way too many tourists blocking the running paths.

Yixiang and Baby was the 3rd and 4th runner for our team (4-EVERSUKI). They sprinted throughout their entire course, in order to make up for the time we (Tracy and I) lost during our course.

Baby was the last runner, and he collected all the finisher medals on behalf of the whole team upon crossing the finishing line. We were so happy to receive our hard-earned medals. We pieced up each medal, and it formed up to look like an ancient propitious knot!

After the race, runners and the member of the public could treat themselves to a wide range of Japanese Food and Beverages such as Ramen, Takoyaki, Ice-cream and Japanese Beer. There were also various Japanese-themed activities to keep the runners occupied while they enjoyed the rest of the evening at the Mizuno Ekiden Matsuri Race Village.

Like the race medal, it takes our combined efforts and teamwork to complete a 21.1km race. GOOD TEAMWORK, 4-EVERSUKI!

If you are interested to join a relay race like this, do look out for the next edition of the Mizuno Ekiden.

[OISHII] Ocean & Terre Food Gift Box

I got to review the food gift box from Ocean & Terre all thanks to OISHII, an informative magazine from Singapore that brings Japanese cuisine and culture to the world. The magazine features insightful articles that touch on every season in Japan, and is a free publication that is available in hard and soft copy versions.

The Ocean & Terre food box contains the most authentic and traditional products from Japan. It is worth SGD15, and the quality of the items were really good. Every product is made of super premium ingredients. The box has a good mix of ready-to-eat items and other ingredients to incorporate into our own dishes.

That the Japanese adores their sweets is a huge understatement! Every sweet snack from Japan is well produced and tastes delicious!

The Mini Baumkuchen comes in three flavors, and I liked the 'MANGO' flavour the best! Although it is a tradition pastry of many European countries, it is also a popular snack/dessert in Japan.

Okinawa Danish Mango Pastry was baked in a shape of a cube, and I loved the fluffy texture very much!

I prepared a bowl of Pink Udon by using the Udon Soup Powder, and it tasted delicious. I savored every bit of it, and it was a perfect lazy Sunday lunch for me!

In the box, there were 3 different flavored instant soups from Hokkaido - Asparagus, Pumpkin and Potato. I love the Pumpkin Soup the best! To be honest, the quality was so good that I couldn't tell if it was actually from a pre-prepared pack of soup!

Lastly, the Dashi Chazuke Mix came in 2 different flavors - Japanese Apricot and Red Salmon. Just a short introduction about Chazuke: It is a simple Japanese dish by pouring green tea, dashi or hot water over cooked rice.

I prepared the Red Salmon Ochazuke for myself, and it tasted fabulous. Sometimes, I really wonder how a simple prepared meal can taste so good! This is exactly why I love Japan so much!

I enjoyed the food gift box on a whole, as every food item was packed exquisitely. I want to thank OISHII once again for giving me the experience to try out this lovely Ocean & Terre food Gift Box.
