Grand opening of Yunomori Onsen & Spa

Good news for all onsen lovers, as you can enjoy an authentic Japanese Onsen experience without having to travel all the way to Japan!

Yunomori Onsen & Spa recently opened at the Kallang Wave Mall which is just a short walk from the Stadium MRT Station. It offers a unique relaxation and rejuvenation experience of both authentic Japanese onsen and Thai spa treatments.

Yunomori aims to create a unique experience of relaxation right here in Singapore, by bringing together the two ancient practices of Japanese Onsen and Thai Spa therapies!

I was glad to attend the grand opening of Yunomori Onsen & Spa and this marked Singapore's very first authentic Japanese Onsen, and it has a huge variety of baths, with the entire space more than 16,000 sq ft.

The interior design of Yunomori Onsen & Spa features generous element of wood and natural materials to acquire a sense of nature's own splendour that is normally found in any forest!

The entrance fee of Yunomori Onsen is priced affordably at only SGD28+ for children+Seniors) and SGD38+ for adults, which gives customers access to the onsen facilities for the entire day, The feel also allow all guests to try out different variations of baths. Customers can opt to have an add on massage or spa treatment from the Spa Menu available. Do note that Yunomori Onsen & Spa opens from 10am-11pm daily, so visit early to get your money's worth!

The spa is divided into two premises - Naturally, it is to cater to segregate the Men and the Women from each other. The spa provides towels, special undergarments and yukatas that come with many colors and designs for guests to wear before the actual onsen. If you have any doubts on wearing them, the friendly staff will be there to assist you.

Traditionally, the Onsen in Japan required one to be fully naked, but in Singapore, guests might not be keen on this, so the spa has special arrangement to have undergarments provided!

 Things to take note

Do shower before entering the bath pools!

For hygienic purposes, you can only wear special undergarments which were provided by the spa to the bath pools. Lastly, no cameras and hand-phones are allowed within the bath pools premises!

The spa boasts a total of 11 pools with 6 different variations of baths/facilities that range from sauna, steam bath, massages/spa treatment rooms, shower area, a dining café, lounge, locker facilities and luggage concierge service for travellers.

The soothing nature of Silk Bath helps to relax the muscles and alleviates problems such as rheumatic, arthritic aches and mental stress.

Soda Spa features technology imported directly from Japan. The water is enriched with a high concentration of natural carbon dioxide that increase blood oxygen levels, improves circulation and reduces high blood pressure and lastly, to detoxify blood.

The Hot Bath is heated to a temperature of 41'C to 44'C, and this helps to provide relief to joints and muscular tensions, as well as to detoxify the body. The temperature for the Cold Bath is set at 17'C to 19'C, and this helps to boost anti-aging effects by closing the pores and tightening the skin.

The Bubble Bath provides guests with a holistic and rejuvenating experience. Jet Bath takes away everyday stress and the full-body jet streams of air helps to stimulate blood circulation.

I also love the dressing table which was provided to us for freshening up after our soak in the bath!

You are in for a treat if you are heading for any of the massage or spa treatments after the soak, as you will feel very relaxed after the session! I love the neat, clean and minimalistic treatment room as it gave me a peaceful and calm feeling when I entered the room.

If you do wish to do any treatments after the onsen, do spend some quality time with your friends and loved ones in the lounge to have a heart-to-heart talk session! Wi-Fi is complimentary too!

If you are hungry after the treatments, you can enjoy some authentic Japanese food/snacks at the Yunomori Café.

We were glad to try out the authentic yet delectable Japanese food during the grand opening. We were totally spoilt by the selection of food provided. We had fun exploring the place and we look forward to have a wonderful Onsen experience soon!
