Celebration of 10th Anniversary of The Arts House

The Arts House was launched in 2004 and it set out to be a centre for the arts that all can access and enjoy. It has remained true to this mission over the years. It is an open stage for performers from all walks of life, be it a professional musician, a Chinese opera enthusiasts, or even students who are putting up a local play.

In recent years, The Arts House has also distinguished itself as a centre for the literary arts. It is a distinctive home for the Arts for all Singaporeans. The Arts House is located in a building with a long and proud heritage. This is the oldest existing government building in Singapore, and also one of our national monuments.

The celebration of 10th Anniversary of The Arts House is centered on the theme 'The Next Page' for 10 days from 26 March 2014 - 6 April 2014.

I attended the 10th Anniversary of The Arts House with my two lovelies, and we were excited in seeing The Next Page performance.

The celebration kicked off with a welcome speech by Mr William Phuan, Director of The Arts House and followed by a speech by the Guest-of-honor, MR Lawrence Wong - Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information.

Multimedia light installations in the Singapore art scene are a rising trend and they are very well-received by Singaporeans. Epson is renowned for its projection technology and has been very supportive of the arts.

The dazzling display of light and dance is part of the Arts House 10th Anniversary, an outdoor multimedia projection showcase will be held as part of the anchor show on 26 March, and throughout the celebrations till 6 April 2014.

The anchor show ‘The Next Page’ takes over the entire former Parliament House.

The Arts House marks its 10-year milestone by disappearing from the arts scene. The whole classic The Arts House is replaced by a mega-bookstore, a dance club and a posh 5-star boutique hotel.

The Arts House’s 10th Anniversary programmes run from 26 March to 6 April. The ticketed shows, The Next Page and Night Walk with the Storyteller can be purchased at SGD10 from www.bytes.sg.

We had an unforgettable nocturnal experience at The Arts House.

Lastly, thanks Sweetie for extending her invite to me, and I was glad to be part of this milestone celebration with The Arts House.
