[Food tasting] Thai promotion at Feast@East Buffet Restaurant, Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel

Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel is located at the eastern side of Singapore and is just a few minutes away from Singapore Changi International Airport. Lately, Feast@East Buffet Restaurant which is located on the 3rd level of Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel have come up with a spread of festive cuisine from the land of Smiles, Thailand from 18th October to 3rd November 2013.

 

Feast@East Buffet Restaurant features an array popular of Thai cuisines including everybody's favorites like Tom Yam Goong, Phad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Mango Salad, Sticky Rice with Mango and many more other dishes to satisfy all Thai food lovers…

 

 

I attended the food tasting of the upcoming Thai food promotion at the Feast@East Buffet Restaurant which will be available this week from 18th October 2013 onwards.

 

The list of dishes that we will be trying during the food tasting session...

While waiting for the food to be served, Sweetie and I did a random selfy of ourselves together... 

 

 

We kicked off the food tasting with 3 different types of starters...

 

 

  Yam Som Oh (Pomelo Salad)

 

Som Tam (Green Papaya Salad)

At this point of tasting, Chef James did a twist to the salad by putting raw long beans which was a pretty good move as it balances up the whole flavor of the salad. Though, it tasted pretty tasty but I still prefer the original Green Papaya Salad...

 

Thai Prawn Cake

OM!! It was so tasty that I can’t stop helping myself with more servings... I think I can finish the whole plate of serving myself hahahaha...   

 

Tom Yam Goong

 

The soup tasted normal though the entire components are equipped to make a proper Tom Yam soup, but somehow it still lack of something to spice up the whole flavor of the Tom Yam Goong. The bonus side was the generous ingredients in the soup made up for its taste.

 

Pineapple Fried Rice – A truly Thai dish which is necessary to be in the menu for all Thai restaurants...

 

During this food tasting, I prefer Pineapple Fried Rice to Phad Thai as I think Chef James prepared it pretty well though it was not served in the pineapple husk, but I can taste the sweetness when eating the rice.

 

Phad Thai -The most common dish eaten in Thailand and it is always my all-time favorite and I will order it whenever I visit any Thai restaurants.

 

Sadly to say,the Phad Thai didn’t bring out the ethnic taste, and it tasted pretty bland for me...   

 

Goong Ka Pao (Stir-fried Prawn with Thai Basil)

 

The stir-fried prawn was a tad too dry, as I felt it lost the juiciness when the process of stir-frying took place, but I love the gravy that covered the fried prawns...

 

Beef Red Curry tasted absolutely delicious and the beef meat is so tender that it just melted in my mouth. This dish is simply awesome and I can't sttop myself taking more servings during the food tastting session...  

 

Deep–Fried Sea Bass in Thai Chilli tasted good and boosted up my appetite, but beware of the fish bone when eating it...

 

All good meals must conclude with something sweet, and here we go, we completed our feast with 5 different kinds of Thai signature desserts…

 

Thai Glutinous (Sticky) Rice with Mango, Mock Jackfruit, Tako, Tapioca Caramel with Coconut Milk, Thai Deep-fried Banana.

As for the dessert part, the clincher for me was surprisingly the Tako...

 

Remember never leave Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel without trying the most commendable dessert from Feast@East, and that is their Durian Paste. It is rich and creamy... It is a good stuff indeed! 
 

 

Savor the delish Thai fare where spicy, sweet and sour tastes all come together into an exciting burst of flavors at Feast@East Buffet Restaurant. All diners including children will also be treated a can of coconut drink. During dinner, adult diners will have a choice of a complimentary can of coconut drink, a glass of draught beer or red/white wine.
