Aquarama 2013 and Pet Asia 2013

Singapore took the center stage as the host for the Aquarama 2013 as well as for South East Asia’s first international Pet and Accessories trade show, Pet Asia 2013 which were all held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands.

Aquarama 2013 featured the established and popular components, from star and new products showcase, to the International Fish Competition, Marine / Nano Tank Design Competition, Fish Farm Visit, and lastly free Trade and Public Seminars.

Apart from the Aquarama, Pet Asia 2013 also featured a wide selection of products and accessories that facilitates and supports a happier and healthier life for the pets. The highlights of the show were the pet grooming competition, rabbit competition run along the American Rabbit Breeders’ Association standards and Dog Agility/Obedience competition. These shows were held at the competition arena.

The International Fish Competition under Goldfish category…

Qian Hu has been focusing on developing new products due to the high demand for ornamental fish and accessories in the recent years.

I was amazed by the innovative, technology-led aquarium tank by Qian Hu, the LumiQ series. It caught my attention and has changed my point of view of having a fish tank at home, not mainly for the fishes but the electricity used to keep the fish tank running is totally worthwhile as it benefits both fish lovers and other family members in the house.

The LumiQ series of new-generation fish tanks, with in-built docking stations and passive speaker systems won the Best New Product Awards at the Pet Expo 2012 in Australia.

I simply love the idea of the Marine Tank Competition, and this is the winner’s creation.

I spotted the rare breed stingray, Black Diamond in the show, as per the ornamental fish seller each pair can cost up SGD6,000 to SGD80,000.

Black Diamonds are normally sold in pairs because fish keepers will breed them and sell the extra stock for money.

Arowana are also known as ‘Dragon Fish’ because of their shiny armor-like scales, have a wide and varied food diet. They are the best fish to keep for good fengshui.

OM!! These were the new-born baby Arowana and they looked strange as they were attached to an orangey thingy…  *pretty gross*

There was a grooming demonstration going on during the trade show which was organized by the Dog Groomers' Association of Singapore.

Parrots are popular as pets due to their sociable and affectionate nature and they can be very rewarding pets to their owners too as they are very smart in learning new things and listening to commands.

Thanks so much to Eagle Pro for the Happi Doggy Dental Chew, and my sweetest Coco loves them loads…

Thanks for the invite to Aquarama 2013 / Pet Asia 2013, and I am looking forward for the next Aquarama and Pet Asia in 2015.
