Green & Gorgeous @ 313

In celebration of Earth Hour on 23 March 2013, 313@somerset (313) will be organising a slew of fun-filled activities to educate the shoppers on sustainability and to encourage them to join 313 on the sustainability journey.

 

313’s Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap, which was a huge success for past years, is back again this year. Over 1,000 items have been exchanged in the past two 313’s Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap, an initiative pioneered by the mall which has since become a signature event. All un-swapped items will be will be donated to ASPN, the Association for Persons with Special Needs.
 

 

313’s Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap will be held on March 23 from 4-8pm. It will be located at the L1 Discovery Walk, beside Charlie Brown Café. During this event, shoppers can swap their used clothes and accessories and will be entertained by Supernova, winner of the Eco Music Challenge 2012 as they will perform every 30 minutes throughout the Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap.

 

Winner of Miss Earth Singapore 2012, Ms Phoebe Tan, will be showing her support by generously donating some of her clothing to the Fashion Swap and share some of her favourite recycling tips at 5pm and participate in the 'Green your Accessories’ Workshop. This four-hour long (4-8pm) workshop aims to give shoppers a taste of using recycled materials to create beautiful accessories and being environmentally responsible in a fashion forward way. Shoppers can enjoy all workshops for free and registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The registration for the Green & Gorgeous Fashion Swap opens in March 8 and only the first 120 shoppers to sign up will receive an exciting mystery gift. Shoppers can register at either the B1 Concierge or by sending their name and email address via SMS to 9438 2059.

 

The drop-off points for clothing and accessory collection are at the L1 Atrium on March 16 and 17 from 12 – 8pm as well as the 313 Management office (#05-04) from March 18 - 21 between 8:30am - 4:30pm. Submissions are limited to a maximum of 15 items per participant. Swappable clothing will be tagged based on Best Value, Moderate Value, and Premium Value. Participants will obtain tags accordingly to exchange for equal value clothing and accessories.

 

On March 23 from 4 – 8pm, join the ‘Pledge Green’ programme and visit 313’s photo booth at L1 Discovery Walk to make a ‘green’ pledge for the environment. All pledges will be put together to form a unique symbol befitting Mother Earth!

 

At 8:30pm, shoppers will experience 313@somerset’s ‘Lights Off!’ initiative and come together in 313@somerset’s bid to promote the use of less energy. For two hours instead of one, participating retailers will turn off their non-essential lights and 313@somerset will turn off its facade until 10.30pm.

 

From March 15 – 28, shoppers can enjoy the attractive ‘Spend & Redeem’ promotion; the first 50 shoppers daily to spend a minimum of $120 (in a maximum of 3 same-day receipts) will stand to redeem an exclusive Green Tote Bag constructed out of recyclable material. The promotion is limited to one redemption per shopper per day, on a first-come-first-serve basis. CLUB313 members are guaranteed redemption.
