Preview screening of MOONRISE KINGDOM

I scored an invitation to the exclusive preview of MOONRISE KINGDOM at Shaw Theatres Premiere @ NEX. and it is definitely a great movie night-out on a mid week. The luxury seating and prestige service treatment was simply awesome.

'Moonrise Kingdom' is a 2012 comedy-drama film. The setting of the story is retro-styling and it brings us to the American countryside of 1965. The score goes perfectly well on the screen action with a mixture of militaristic marching music, classical and 60s pop music.

The story begins in 1965, and pre-teen pen-pals, Sam Shakusky (starring Jared Gilman) and Suzy Bishop (played by Kara Hayward) agree to run away from home and meet up after a year later. The long home island search involved Policeman (starring Bruce Willis), Scout Leader (played by Edward Norton) and Suzy parents (starring Bill Murray and Frances McDormand) as they are trying to hunt down the eloping children before a hugh storm arrives.

3/5
Bruce Willis takes his role as a lonely cop who patrols a quiet island, though he has his faults but he is kind and caring at heart. Edward Norton plays an exemplary scout leader with a big heart and Bill Murray and Frances McDormand play a married couple who are both lawyers, and they talk to each other in legal language. Apart from the 4 big stars, there is also a small cameo from Jason Schwartzman, Harvey Keitel and Tilda Swinton too.

The acting of the 2 young characters is fantastic and the whole adult characters are also enchanting too without a doubt. The only downside is that the characters of the big stars like (Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray and Frances McDormand) lack of development in the movie. Overall, the plot is sweet and lovely, it is a movie with a big heart and plenty of laughs. A nostalgic movie indeed! The premiere date is on the 2nd August 2012.
