Gala Premiere of Men In Black 3 (MIB3)

I went for the 'Men In Black 3' Gala Premiere with a group of friends and of course with my Baby too...

Agent J (starring Will Smith) travels back in time to MIB's early years in the 1960s, to stop an alien, Boris (played by Jemaine Clement) from assassinating his partner and bosom friend Agent K (starring Tommy Lee Jones) and changing history.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones reprise their roles as the agents J and K of the secret Men in Black who monitor alien activity on earth. A serial-killer (hideous alien-creature) has escaped from his maximum security prison on the moon and travels back in time to kill agent K. Agent J ventures through time to look for the young agent K (played by Josh Brolin) to stop the alien from destroying the world.

I love the cool gadgets and vehicles featured in the film... The giant wheel hoover-bikes and as well as the key item in all MIB movie series, the neutralizer.

Josh Brolin gives a good representation of how agent K would be during his youth in the sixties. He steals every scene when he appears in as the young agent K. I was surprised that Josh Brolin did very well to impersonate Tommy Lee Jones in the role as the younger agent K.

There are some funny scenes in this movie, such as a scene where celebrity cameos like Justin Bieber and lady Gaga are suggested deriving from alien origins and the hilarious segment devoted to Andy Warhol. The jumping off the Empire State in order to go back to the 1960s New York was pretty cool for agent J. The 3D effect boosted up the ‘monster scenes’ especially the huge fish that tried to attack agent J at the Chinese restaurant.

3/5

A decade away, Men in Black 3 gives us a chance for a new look, it takes on a time-travel plot and it is returning back to its roots, giving the audience a chance to remember what they first enjoyed about this sci-fi and buddy comedy movie. I love the nice emotional soft touch at the end of the story and I feel that it is a nostalgic film.

I had the pleasure of watching the Gala Premiere all thanks to Sony Pictures. The premiere date is on the 24 May 2012.
