Food Review : TANG Hong Kong Gourmet

I was at Tanjong Pagar last week for a food tasting session and now I am sharing with you, another eating place located within the CBD district that offers a wide variety of mouth water-drooling dishes...

My food destination for the food tasting is TANG HONG KONG GOURMET

TANG Hong Kong Gourmet is located along side a long-stretch of shop houses, but with the bright orange signboard, it is quite prominent and is easily spotted from a distance away. An added bonus to this eatery place is that it is just a walking distance from Tanjong Pager MRT Station (EXIT A)

TANG Hong Kong Gourmet bears a open-concept design and the setting and layouts are pretty simple... The ambience gives a homely-feeling while having the meals in the premises...

The mascot logo which you can find on the wall appears within on the menu which represent 'chef recommendations'.

Cam-whoring with Sweetie and Auntie Terence before the food tasting session commenced...

This is the MOST-POPULAR dish, Tang's Authentic HK Roast Duck that receives alot of rave reviews...

The chef uses a special spice to marinate the whole duck... The duck meat tasted flavourful as it was well marinated...

The skin is thin and crispy... OM! I was pretty addicted to the taste...

Tang's Special Spicy Coconut Prawn tasted good. This dish bears a unique taste that left me asking for more... I mark it as A MUST-TRY ITEM in TANG Hong Kong Gourmet.

Pig Trotter Vinegar tasted very different from other place which I had eaten before... The strong smell was not over-killing and the best point about this dish is that the taste of vinegar was not over-whelming. It tasted pretty tasty as a whole...

I had Pink Guava Drink to soothen my throat, and it tasted pretty normal, nothing to shout about.

Steamed Fish Head with Chilli and Garlic Sauce is really worth a mention as most of us enjoyed it. The gravy whipped up my appetite and the gravy sauce was fragrant and it enhanced a better taste for the fish meat to accompany our white rice too...

Tang's Special Spicy Silver Fish is addictive, once you start, you just can't stop popping them into your mouth... A great side dish aka snack if you are not having a heavy meal...

They included western food entree into their menu too... We tried the Chicken Cutlet. I love the breaded crispy skin and the meat was tender too...

The chef cum boss behind TANG Hong Kong Gourmet, Celebrity Chef Benson Tong.

Benson Tong shared his experience and his encounters when he was entering the food industy and of course his business set up...

We ended our food tasting session with the nourishing dessert, Double Boil Papaya with White Fungi.

Red dates were added to increase more nutrients to the dessert and at the same time enhanced the taste as a whole...

To top of the sumptuous dinner, we were given cupcakes as a form of dessert too...

We took some photos after our dinner...

Nice to know you, Wee Heng (www.aspirantsg.com)

We ended our night @ TANG Hong Kong Gourmet with our group photo with Benson Tong and fellow blogger friends!!
