Food Review : Charly T's at I12 Katong

I visited a restaurant named Charly T's at I12 Katong for a food tasting session, and it is situated on the third level... Charly T's bears a casual dining concept...

Charly T's has experienced remarkable food adventures and invites customers to experience his travels vicariously through its menu. You can find all types of cuisines under one roof...

The interior of the restaurant is simple and neat, it is well-ventilated and the lightings are nicely set up too

There is one private dining room with a simple Peranakan-style set-up...

Nostalgic furniture and flooring were used for this dining room

I couldn't leave the restaurant without taking some photos of the Peranakan decor...

I love the alfresco lounge area where guests can watch 'LIVE' sports matches on a 60' widescreen while enjoying beer with a group of friends. Alternatively, guests can also enjoy their meal or drink while enjoying the beautiful sunset.

This is a definitely an interesting dining destination worth exploring...

Both William and I started off with the Charly T's Odysseys (SGD6.50) while enjoying the sunset... I had Red Tang - strawberry, cranberry and lychee) and William had Green Flash - green apple, orange and pineapple. They are well blended and refreshing...

Cam-whoring before the food tasting commenced (:

Back to the dining table where we were about to start our dinner...

We were first served the most popular dish, Charly T's Famous Rotisserie Chicken which were also accompanied by wholesome side dishes... Charly T's chickens are chilled, but never frozen to keep their freshness, they are marinated for over 13 hours before being slow-cooked rotisserie-style.

Charly T's Original Recipe Rotisserie Chicken (quarter chicken with 2 additions) is charged at SGD13... The quarter chicken looks crispy outside and meat is tender and juicy. Each quarter of chicken also comes with its own signature dip sauce...

The Rotisserie Chicken comes in 3 other varieties : Kampong Chicken, Black pepper & Kansas City BBQ... A dish of quarter chicken with 2 additions is charged at SGD15

The famous Rotisserie Chicken comes with a variety of signature sauces to complement its savory flavor. These included the 'homemade' Chermoula Sauce (a traditional Moroccan sauce of cilantro, garlic and cayenne pepper sauce). creamy Roasted Sesame Sauce, Kansas City BBQ Sauce and Charly T's Original Sauce (spicy/Hot)

Each quarter of chicken dish comes along with 2 additions, but during this food tasting session, we got to try all 4...

German Potato Salad

Macaroni and Cheese, is a recipe from an award-winning chef. This side dish contains less cheese, is a healthier option...

Butter Garlic Rice

Steamed Fresh Vegetables

After the famous chicken, a pork dish was served on our table... The Kalua Pork from Honolulu (SGD16) is an indispensable dish found at Hawaiian feasts... It looked pretty interesting, the pork belly is well marinated, with a smoky flavor and the meat is very soft too.

CT's Beef Burger (SGD10.50) looked promising... The meat patty was uber juicy and delicious (:

The chips were good too

A favorite dish for all of us, Jumbo Schnitzel Burger (SGD14)... An Austria-German staple features an escalope-style chicken coated in bread crumbs, which is then fried till golden brown and served with a generous helping of CT fries. The bacon strips tasted fabulous!!

I requested to try out the Hot Tangy Wings (SGD12), as I am mad about chicken wings... It came covered with CT's special sauce and it looked spicy at first glance, and on my first bite, it was really spicy as expected...

To round up our dinner, we had the famous Austrian-German dessert, Kaiserschmarrn (SGD14)... I only tasted a tad of the 'homemade' vanilla bean ice-cream since I was quite full..

A light and fluffy pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar and raisins... The pancakes were tasted pretty decent (:

Lastly, we tried the Mocha Cheese Cake, it was pretty good, the cake was served frozen, it is like a ice-cream cake to me...

With Mother's Day around the corner, there is a complimentary dish of Mocha Cheesecake for all mothers from 7-13 May 2012... A homemade Mocha Cheese Cake (for sharing between two guests), compliments of the chef will be given when mothers dine-in with at least two main course orders. Promotion is valid all day, any day!

I like the idea of bringing all the cuisines of the various countries together and serving them under one roof. Never ending food journey at Charly T's. Their alfresco dining area is highly recommended and it is great for gatherings... Do try their CT and Chicken Schnitzel Burgers and Odysseys...
