'The Adjustment Bureau' is a romance fiction thriller film based on the Philip K. Dick short story, 'Adjustment Team'.
The film opens with a montage of New York politician David Norris (starring Matt Damon) on the campaign trails to become the next U.S Senator. He loses the election, but in long run, he is the winner because he meets and abrupty kisses a gorgeous ballerina, Elise (played by Emily Blunt) while practicing his 'gracious loser' speech in the gent. The agents of The Adjustment Bureau come into the picture when they know that David and Elise has met each other. In this story, the agents makes each day happen according to their plan... As David & Elise were never supposed to meet each, their mutual attractions results in the agents intervention. The bureau needs to stop them from seeing each other again.
---------------------------------------------------
From the movie's point of view, everything we do in our daily life has already been planned ahead. Since plans have been set, there is no forseeable damage. The Bureau's existence is partly because humans are immature and reckless at times, we can't think what is best for us so we need a force behind to ensure our actions will lead to a stable lifestyle.

3.5/5

I found the story-line fresh in the industry and the plot was marvelous. Matt Damon still displays great acting skills. 'The Adjustment Bureau' is about romance more than anything else but of course a thriller as well with lots of philosophical ideas interwined into the audience's perception. This movie offers something unique.

I had the pleasure of watching the preview screening all thanks to xinmsn.com & United International Pictures (UIP). The premiere date is on the 3 March 2011.
