Pre-Reno Night Movie @ Eng Wah Suntec

As Eng Wah Suntec will be closing for renovations. Bet everybody (myself included) is looking forward to their new look in the near future. I had the pleasure of watching 'The Rite' all thanks to Eng Wah Cineplex for their kind gesture by giving away some complimentary tickets to their royal patrons... I was so happy to be present @ the Pre-Reno Night Movie.

After work, Ryna & I met up our respective partners for the movie... Thanks Rush for getting for us the tickets... Baby & I strongly agreed that Eng Wah Suntec REALLY need to do some renovations in order to keep up with the rest of the movie theatres. As it looks old, the seatings are not comfy and lastly, sound system was bad as in comparison to others.

'The Rite' is an American supernatural thriller film based on the book - The Rite : The making of a Modern Exorcist by Rome-based Matt Baglio which was published in 2009. An average and predictable exorcism flick and while creepy at times but it is far from suspenseful or scary enough to qualify as a standard horror movie.

This movie has a NC16 rating. It has received mix reviews mostly, where the negiatives are due to the movie being languid and limp-paced. Probably theologist will enjoy the value of this intellectual and spiritual movie.

'The Rite' takes too serious in its portrayal to the audience on it's core message with emphasis on a brisk cinematic battle between the powers of good and evil but it completely forgets its genre of a horror film. I felt that I was watching a documentary.

Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins, who was born in 31 December 1937. He is best known as Anthony Hopkins - Welsh actor of film, stage and television. He is considered to be one of the greatest living actors.

Anthony Hopkins most famous role was as the cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1991. In 1979, Anthony Hopkins became an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music, London. Anthony Hopkins is a talented pianist. In 1986, he released a single called 'Distant Star'. It peaked at #75 in the UK charts.
