I won a pair of tickets to Confessions from xinmsn.com! As usual, Baby & I went for the preview screening.

--- Posters of Confessions (Kokuhaku) ---

2010 Japanese Drama Film directed by Tetsuya Nakashima. This film has been selected as the Japanese entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards. It has also been enjoying success at international festivals and recently having its UK Premiere at the 2010 London October Frightfest.

Rating: 3/5

One of the most disturbing and depressing movies that I have watched this year. A psychological thriller of a grieving teacher turned cold-blooded avenger with her twisted master plan to avenge herself on the students the students who caused her daughter's death. As the story unfolds, there are several surprising twists. This film exposes the dark side of human nature.

This film would have been more gripping if the first confession had been shorter and less draggy... A pretty difficult movie for faint-hearted people. After watching the movie, I left with a heavy heart cos I personally feel that 'Confessions' is a pretty dark disturbing movie.

Takako Matsu is one of my fave Japanese actresses... She plays a school teacher whose daughter is murdered. Shattered by her child's death, she returns to her classroom, convinced that two of her students were responsible for her daughter's death. She used all the psychological warfare waged against her students in an attempt to force them into confessing what she knows in her heart that they are guilty.

I had the pleasure of watching the preview screening all thanks to xinmsn.com. The premiere date is on the 25/November
